Referring your patient for a Digital PET-CT
Advanced imaging with faster access for your patients
When PET-CT is part of the clinical pathway, the quality of the imaging and how quickly a patient can be seen both matter.
Specialist Radiology has invested in advanced digital PET-CT technology that offers significantly greater sensitivity than conventional systems. That can support improved image quality, higher diagnostic confidence and, depending on the clinical protocol, shorter scan times or lower radiation dose.
Patients also benefit from prioritised appointments, helping reduce delays between referral, imaging and treatment planning.

Why clinicians refer to
Specialist Radiology Group
Continuity of care
Patients who have already undergone imaging elsewhere may still benefit from assessment using digital PET-CT technology. Where clinically appropriate, an independent comparison may provide additional confidence for both the treating team and the patient.
Earlier lesion visualisation
The system has the capability to visualise lesions as small as 1.4 mm, compared with approximately 7 mm on conventional PET-CT systems currently available within the region.
Faster patient access
Patients are prioritised for PET-CT appointments, helping reduce the time between referral, imaging and treatment decisions.
Digital PET-CT technology
Our digital PET-CT system provides substantially greater imaging capability than conventional PET-CT technology. In practical terms, that means clearer images and greater confidence when assessing disease or monitoring treatment response.
| Conventional PET-CT | Specialist Radiology Digital PET-CT |
|---|---|
| Conventional detector technology | Advanced digital detector technology |
| Lesion visibility around 7 mm | Capability to visualise lesions from 1.4 mm |
| Standard scan times | Up to three times faster* |
| Standard radiation dose | Potential for lower radiation dose* |
* Depending on the clinical protocol.
